Job Details

• Position: Electrical/Automation Design Engineer
• Location: Chicago, IL

Responsibilities:

• Design electrical power distribution systems including plans, line diagrams, and equipment evaluations
• Create project specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and process controls
• Design SCADA and control systems for water/wastewater applications, including PLC architecture and software/hardware configuration
• Develop wiring schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and communication diagrams
• Prepare submittal packages for instrumentation and control systems
• Conduct site visits to investigate field conditions and gather design inputs
• Collaborate with integrators, engineers, and project managers to support both consulting and integration design work

What you bring:

• Experience as an Electrical/Automation Design Engineer or similar role
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design tools
• Strong understanding of control panels, instrumentation, and water/wastewater SCADA systems
• Knowledge of PLC programming and communication protocols
• P.E. License preferred but not required
