Job Details
- Position: Electrical/Automation Design Engineer
- Location: Chicago, IL
Responsibilities:
- Design electrical power distribution systems including plans, line diagrams, and equipment evaluations
- Create project specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and process controls
- Design SCADA and control systems for water/wastewater applications, including PLC architecture and software/hardware configuration
- Develop wiring schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and communication diagrams
- Prepare submittal packages for instrumentation and control systems
- Conduct site visits to investigate field conditions and gather design inputs
- Collaborate with integrators, engineers, and project managers to support both consulting and integration design work
What you bring:
- Experience as an Electrical/Automation Design Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design tools
- Strong understanding of control panels, instrumentation, and water/wastewater SCADA systems
- Knowledge of PLC programming and communication protocols
- P.E. License preferred but not required
