Job Details
- Position: Automation Engineer (PLC)
- Location: Crystal Lake, IL
Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and install PLC control systems for water/wastewater applications
- Develop conceptual designs and system specifications based on client requirements
- Provide field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting support for automation systems
- Program and test HMI/SCADA systems, especially Allen-Bradley, FactoryTalk, Ignition, or Wonderware
- Conduct site visits to configure instrumentation and support process startups
- Prepare control panel schematics, network diagrams, and documentation for projects
- Participate in on-call rotation for troubleshooting instrumentation and control issues
What you bring:
- Experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role in industrial controls
- Strong background in PLC/HMI design and implementation, with focus on Allen-Bradley systems
- Familiarity with SCADA software development (e.g., FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware)
- Hands-on experience with control panel wiring, network setup, and instrumentation
- Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision
