We are a well-established MEP design firm serving the Hampton Roads area since 1960. We are looking for an experienced Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Norfolk-based team. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality design, assessments, and retrofit services, the firm is seeking a licensed professional to support and lead a variety of commercial, municipal, healthcare, and higher education projects.
Position Overview:
- Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer
- Location: Norfolk, VA
- Work Breakdown: 85% office, 15% local client site visits
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design projects and coordinate with architects, contractors, and engineering teams
- Perform load calculations and develop full electrical system designs using Revit
- Review and respond to submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation
- Oversee site surveys and job walks to ensure project compliance with codes and quality standards
- Train and mentor junior staff, supporting technical development and knowledge-sharing
- Maintain departmental design standards and documentation templates
Ideal Candidate:
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP or consulting environment
- PE license required
- Experience with municipal, institutional, healthcare, or commercial facilities is a plus
- Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and project management skills
