About the Opportunity:
MacDonald-Miller, the Northwest’s premier mechanical contractor, is seeking a Lead Estimator to manage and mentor a team of professionals developing accurate and competitive mechanical project estimates. Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience in a Lead Estimator or Senior Estimator role, ideally within the mechanical or construction sectors
- Strong communication skills to effectively present budget estimates to internal and external stakeholders
- Experience retrieving subcontractor/supplier pricing and validating vendor equipment submittals
- Proficiency in budgeting, proposal writing, and preconstruction estimating
- Ability to lead job walks, scope reviews, and job meetings
- Familiarity with MCA, SMACNA, ECA, Wendes, RSMeans, or similar estimating resources
- Demonstrated success mentoring and developing teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely, thorough, and accurate completion of all project estimates
- Lead the estimating team and provide hands-on mentorship and training
- Collaborate with sales and operations on preconstruction efforts including job walks and proposal development
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for scope and pricing
- Analyze construction methods and labor needs to produce detailed cost breakdowns
- Support continued improvement of estimating processes, tools, and technology
