About the Opportunity:
A growing and well-respected MEP engineering design firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (P.E.) to join their team. This is a fully remote role for a licensed professional located in the Chicagoland area. The firm delivers design-build and retrofit solutions across a wide range of public and private sector projects including transportation, aviation, education, and healthcare.
Position Details:
- Title: Electrical Engineer (P.E.)
- Location: Chicago, IL (Remote – Must reside in the Chicagoland area)
- Status: Full-Time | Remote | Local Site Visits Required
Ideal Candidate:
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in MEP design
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design and layout
- Strong project management and technical leadership skills
- Experience with lighting and emergency systems design
- Skilled in power distribution, load calculations, service sizing, voltage and wiring
- Comfortable conducting client site surveys and field assessments
- Capable of producing documentation from concept through construction
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven in a fast-paced setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and project management of electrical systems for new and retrofit construction
- Create and review drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Perform load calculations, power studies, and equipment selection
- Design lighting systems and conduct cost analysis
- Ensure code compliance and adherence to project specifications
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Conduct site visits and client coordination as needed
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $100,000–$130,000 (Based on experience)
- Remote Work: Fully Remote (Chicagoland candidates only)
