Controls Technician – Boise, ID (Travel Required) – $80,000–$90,000 + 100% Paid Healthcare

About the Opportunity:

A small, highly specialized HVAC manufacturer’s representative and controls integrator is seeking a Senior-Level Controls Technician to support a growing portfolio of commercial and institutional clients. This role is based out of Boise, ID and includes travel throughout Southern Idaho, Eastern Oregon, and Jackson Hole, WY. If you're experienced with Tridium, programming, and onsite commissioning — this is a high-impact role on a small, expert team.

Position Details:

• Title: Controls Technician
• Location: Boise, ID (with regular travel to Oregon/Wyoming)
• Status: Full-Time | Field + Office Work
• Salary: $80,000–$90,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

• Program, install, and test Building Automation Systems onsite and from the office
• Perform commissioning, point-to-point checks, and functional testing
• Troubleshoot and manipulate Tridium-based BAS programs
• Start-up and terminate controls-related equipment and systems
• Create backups, maintain security updates, and manage client system performance
• Support both new construction and service projects across the territory
• Build and rewrite controls programs from scratch as needed
• Communicate with building owners, GCs, and end users to resolve issues and manage expectations
• Travel to job sites as needed (up to 8-hour radius from Boise)

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in BAS or Controls Technician roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Tridium (required)
• Confident in programming, database creation, and full system commissioning
• Comfortable working independently in the field and collaborating with small teams
• Open to regular regional travel across Idaho, Oregon, and Wyoming
