About the Opportunity:
A well-established MEP consulting firm based in the Hampton Roads metro area is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Designer to join their growing team. Position Details:
- Title: Electrical Engineer/Designer
- Location: Norfolk, VA
- Work Schedule: In-office, local travel only (no overnight)
- Territory: Hampton Roads area and surrounding Virginia regions
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 (DOE)
- Bonus: Discretionary, based on company performance

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design process for new construction and retrofit projects
- Coordinate closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other disciplines
- Manage multiple projects from planning to execution, ensuring on-time delivery
- Perform load calculations, short circuit studies, and panel schedules
- Create QA/QC design documents using Revit and CAD tools
- Review submittals and respond to RFIs from contractors and subcontractors
- Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Conduct job walks and site surveys to verify field conditions and code compliance
- Mentor junior staff and oversee technical development within the team
Ideal Candidate:
- 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or design within an MEP environment
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design documentation
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and local building codes
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- PE license preferred but not required
