About the Opportunity:

A leading boiler service and retrofit provider is seeking an experienced Boiler Field Technician to join its team serving the Greater Northern California region. This company is known for its steam system expertise, long-standing customer relationships, and commitment to technical excellence.

• Based in Stockton, CA
• Travel Radius: Typically within 70 miles; rare overnight travel

Position Details:

• Title: Boiler Field Technician (a.k.a. Fully Metered Technician)
• Status: Full-Time | Union Shop (Boilermakers Local 549)

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: Up to $70/hour (negotiable for the right candidate)

Key Responsibilities:

• Service and calibrate 3-element feedwater control systems for boiler applications
• Troubleshoot, tune, install, and calibrate fully metered boiler control systems
• Diagnose, repair, and install O₂ trim systems across varied equipment
• Install and service SCR systems, evaluating application needs and compliance
• Interpret, adjust, and troubleshoot block logic programming for boiler systems
• Maintain and calibrate draft control systems
• Restore communication between control devices and systems
• Service and repair all types of burner systems (premix, staged, rapid mix)
• Travel locally to customer sites across Northern/Central California

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience with boiler systems and burner management
• 3+ years working with multiple combustion methods (premix, staged, etc.)
• Familiarity with PLCs and block logic systems
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting background in boiler environments
• Willingness to join or maintain union membership (Boilermakers Local 549)
• Comfortable with travel and hands-on field service work
