About the Opportunity
A leading Building Automation & HVAC solutions provider is seeking an experienced
Controls Salesperson to drive project and service growth across East Michigan.
You’ll build relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and owners, crafting value-driven BAS solutions
that reduce energy use and improve building performance. This role is primarily project-focused, with some service sales.
Compensation
- Mid-Level Base: Up to $75,000 | Year-1 OTE: ~ $100,000
- Senior Base: Up to $100,000 | Year-1 OTE: $150,000 – $175,000
- Structure: Base + Commission
Position Details
- Title: Controls Salesperson (Mid or Senior)
- Location: Detroit Metro / East Michigan (Rochester Hills area)
- Focus: Mostly Projects, some Service
- Territory: East Michigan (regional travel as needed)
- Tools: Company vehicle or allowance, laptop, and phone
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts across East Michigan
- Identify opportunities for Building Automation and HVAC controls projects and service
- Create customized proposals, estimates, and presentations that align with client needs and budgets
- Partner with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction
- Own the sales process: prospecting, discovery, solutioning, pricing, closing, and handoff
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in Controls/BAS sales or a closely related HVAC/MEP sales role
- Working knowledge of DDC, BAS platforms, and HVAC systems
- Comfort translating sequences, submittals, and scopes into customer-ready solutions
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and account management skills
- Owner-Direct and Plan & Spec experience is a plus
