Position Details

• Title: Marine Refrigeration Technician
• Location: Oakland, CA (Greater Northern California region)
• Compensation: $29/hr – $55/hr (Based on Experience)
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Travel: Occasional trips to Southern California service locations

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration and non-refrigeration galley and laundry systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for installation and service
• Diagnose issues using precision measuring tools such as calipers and ohmmeters
• Install, test, and maintain marine refrigeration systems and related HVAC/R components
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively during service and maintenance tasks
• Perform equipment installations, retrofits, and heavy lifting as required
• Communicate professionally with customers, shipyards, and team members
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety procedures

Ideal Candidate

• 3–5 years of HVAC/R experience required (marine or industrial background preferred)
• Experience in vehicle maintenance or mechanical systems a plus
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in using precision tools, meters, and diagnostic instruments
• Military or government experience considered a valuable asset
• Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of independent fieldwork
