A respected Midwest-based equipment and controls solutions company is seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Designer to join their growing team in Des Moines, IA. In this key role, you’ll serve as the subject matter expert for CAD software—specifically SEE Electrical or similar platforms—and support multi-site teams across the company’s water, wastewater, and industrial client base.

Role Overview
As the Electrical CAD Designer, you’ll manage and implement SEE Electrical Software or a comparable CAD platform to support panel design, drawing generation, and electrical schematics for control systems. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams at multiple locations, providing support and creating standardized processes across the organization’s electrical CAD needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement and manage SEE Electrical or comparable CAD software tools
- Design electrical control panels and create detailed technical drawings
- Support drawing automation and understand custom auto submittal APIs
- Maintain and update CAD-related databases
- Serve as a technical support resource across internal teams and external partners
- Document solutions and design modifications for future use
- Provide onsite support and occasionally travel to locations across Iowa and Arkansas
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as an Electrical CAD Designer or similar role
- Knowledge of SEE Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical
- Proficiency in electrical panel design and schematic documentation
- Comfortable managing CAD implementation across teams
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in industrial, municipal, or environmental sectors a plus
