Controller, CPA – Long Beach, CA (Hybrid Schedule) – $125,000 – $215,000+ (Base Salary)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Controller (CPA) for a hybrid opportunity (3 days in-office / 2 days remote) with a leading MEP Engineering firm headquartered in Long Beach, CA. This company is part of a larger parent organization comprising over 20 subsidiaries nationwide.

Position Overview:

• Reports To: Executive Leadership / CFO

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong experience in percentage-of-completion accounting
• ASC 606 compliance understanding
• Background in construction or engineering services
• Public accounting experience—Big 4 or Top 10 preferred
• CPA certification is required

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Monitor capital spending, WIP, and tax filings
• Support audits and ensure financial compliance and integrity
• Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Prepare financial statements and strategic dashboards for leadership
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls are met
• Provide key insights into labor utilization, performance metrics, and risk
• Lead insurance and property tax report preparation

Offered Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $125,000 – $215,000+ (Based on Experience)
