About the Opportunity:
A well-respected engineering and consulting firm in the Houston area is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support new construction and renovation projects in sectors such as education, commercial, healthcare, and transportation. The firm prides itself on delivering high-quality MEP designs with an emphasis on accuracy, cost-efficiency, and engineering excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in power distribution design and be comfortable working in Revit and AutoCAD to produce engineering documents and layouts. This position is full-time and onsite in Houston, TX.
Position:
- Title: Electrical Designer
- Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
- Status: Full-Time / Immediate Hire
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical design within the engineering or construction industry
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SKM or EasyPower software – preferred
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering codes, principles, and standards
- Experience in power distribution system design, substation enhancements, and equipment selection
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply electrical design expertise for innovative, code-compliant project solutions
- Transfer red-line markups into Revit drawings and coordinate schedules in Excel
- Perform electrical load calculations, lighting layouts, and power system analysis
- Contribute to engineering reports, manuals, and technical documents
- Stay current with design guides, codes, and industry best practices
- Create detailed engineering deliverables for commercial and institutional projects
- Conduct material research and support QA/QC design efforts
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders
Offered Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $67,000–$90,000 (Depending on Experience)
