Outside Sales Engineer – Greater NorCal Area

We’re seeking a driven and knowledgeable Outside Sales Engineer to represent industry-leading manufacturers across the Bay Area. This role blends technical sales, client engagement, and strategic territory management. You’ll work directly with commercial clients, engineers, and contractors to deliver custom hydronics, plumbing, and mechanical solutions. Position Details:
- Title: Outside Sales Engineer
- Location: Bay Area / Greater Northern California
- Salary: $120,000–$160,000 (DOE) + Company Performance Bonus
- Status: Full-Time | Field-Based | Client-Driven Travel
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree required – Engineering discipline preferred
- 5–10 years of experience in technical sales or engineering in mechanical/plumbing/hydronics industries
- Strong knowledge of commercial systems including pumps, valves, and hydronic equipment
- Excellent communication, project management, and relationship-building skills
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a defined sales territory to meet volume and profitability goals
- Engage directly with end users, engineers, and contractors to drive product adoption
- Develop sales strategies and contribute to internal sales tools and best practices
- Oversee project proposals, pipeline tracking, and revenue forecasting
- Meet and exceed annual sales targets for strategic project acquisition
- Deliver technical product training and presentations to clients
- Evaluate customer needs and tailor product recommendations accordingly
- Coordinate with internal teams and Area Manager to support key accounts
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and service agreements with clients
- Ensure timely delivery of quotes and accurate documentation
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $120,000–$160,000 (DOE)
