Position Details:
- Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer
- Location: Jacksonville, NC
- Status: Full-Time | Overtime Eligible | Long-Term Program Engagement
- Travel: Occasional as-needed within eastern North Carolina
Ideal Candidate:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
- 15+ years of relevant experience in mechanical systems review and commissioning
- Professional Engineering license and certifications such as BCxP, AIA, or NCARB strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC, TAB, DALT, PVT, and BMS/BAS programming and operations
- Experienced in managing complex HVAC testing, system validation, and operational compliance
- Skilled at coordinating with stakeholders including contractors, engineers, vendors, and commissioning authorities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee mechanical acceptance testing for large-scale military construction projects
- Review HVAC designs and confirm compliance with UFC, UFGS, and project performance requirements
- Witness TAB, DALT, and performance verification testing (PVT) activities
- Verify installation and functionality of air handlers, boilers, chillers, pumps, energy recovery systems, and more
- Ensure programming and operation of Building Management Systems (BMS) is aligned with design intent
- Serve as a technical advisor to resolve complex HVAC issues during and after construction
- Document deficiencies, evaluate system performance, and collaborate on issue resolution
Compensation & Benefits:
