About the Opportunity:
A mission-critical infrastructure provider is hiring for two Switchgear Technician Specialist roles in the Phoenix, AZ area—one junior-level and one senior-level opening. These roles focus on the maintenance, QA/QC, and function testing of power distribution systems in high-demand data center environments. Candidates will work with advanced electrical infrastructure and receive robust field support, training, and tools.
Position Details:
- Title: Switchgear Technician Specialist (Junior and Senior)
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Status: Full-Time | Field-Based | Local & Regional Travel
- Schedule: Overtime Eligible
- Certifications: NETA or NICET preferred (not required)
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in critical power systems or low/medium voltage equipment
- Background in QA/QC, function testing, and switchgear installation
- Strong knowledge of relay panels, transformers, and distribution systems
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed
- Skilled in safety protocols and technical documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on switchgear and distribution equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in transmission and control systems
- Function test relays, panels, transformers, and power components
- Conduct QA/QC evaluations and verify compliance with specifications
- Create and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for critical systems
- Support field commissioning and startup activities
- Review project specs and collaborate with sales and PMs
- Conduct site walks and respond to service calls as required
