About the Opportunity:
A nationally recognized MEP consulting firm is seeking a licensed Sr. Mechanical Engineer (PE) with experience in commercial HVAC systems to join their Minneapolis office. This role involves leading the design and execution of complex mechanical systems while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position offers hybrid flexibility, strong compensation, and a pathway to firm ownership.
Position Details:
- Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer (PE)

- Work Schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote
- Focus: Commercial Projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design of HVAC systems for commercial buildings
- Oversee and review detailed system drawings, schematics, and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and other tools
- Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and energy analysis in compliance with codes and standards
- Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and architectural teams to ensure cohesive project execution
- Conduct client meetings to present design concepts and develop project strategies
- Develop documentation including P&IDs, sequences of operation, construction specifications, test plans, and engineering reports
- Provide field support during construction including site verification, RFI responses, inspections, and submittal reviews
Ideal Candidate:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a background in HVAC system design
- Extensive experience working on commercial building projects
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical system design tools
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and design standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $115,000 – $180,000 (Depending on Experience)
