About the Opportunity:

A growing electrical and power-based engineering firm is seeking a skilled Transformer Technician to join their field services team. This position offers high compensation, extensive overtime opportunities, and a company-provided truck. The role requires frequent travel across the U.S. and hands-on experience working with power transformers and auxiliary systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead field service projects involving power transformer installation, repair, and testing
• Supervise on-site crews and coordinate project execution
• Perform hands-on assembly and repair of transformers, including oil processing
• Conduct transformer testing: Power Factor, TTR, Winding Resistance, SFRA, Bushing, Arrester, etc.
• Test auxiliary components such as tap changers, gauges, and pressure relief devices
• Interpret lab oil test results and troubleshoot load tap changers and related systems
• Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to less experienced technicians

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experienced Transformer Technician or equivalent field service role
• Ability to lead field teams and manage equipment onsite
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical test equipment and procedures
• Familiarity with industry standards: NETA, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA
• Willingness to travel frequently nationwide
