NETA Field Technician – Houston, TX – $35–$75/hr + OT + Benefits + Travel

About the Opportunity:

An expanding electrical engineering and field services firm is seeking a certified NETA Field Technician to join its growing team. This is a travel-based role with hands-on commissioning and testing responsibilities across a variety of high-voltage systems. Position Details:

• Title: NETA Field Technician (Field Service)
• Schedule: Full-Time, Field-Based

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $75.00/hr (DOE & Certification Level)
• Overtime: Available (Unlimited)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical testing on power systems: substations, switchgear, transformers, and cables
• Service and test relaying systems, grounding systems, motors, motor starters, batteries, and chargers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identifying root causes and providing solutions
• Prepare detailed service reports and testing documentation
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding project progress and findings
• Maintain a strong focus on safety at all times

Ideal Candidate:

• NETA Level II certification or higher required
• Prior field experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or troubleshooting
• Proficient in power system diagnostics and maintenance
• Strong technical communication and reporting skills
• Willingness to travel frequently and work in a field-based environment
