NETA Field Service Technician II–IV – Central Texas (San Marcos / New Braunfels Area) – Up to $85/hr + Sign-On Bonus + Company Vehicle
A leading provider of power management and electrical testing solutions is seeking experienced NETA Field Service Technicians (Levels II, III, and IV) to support customers throughout the Central Texas region. This role focuses on testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining low, medium, and high voltage power distribution equipment for industrial, commercial, and mission-critical facilities.
Position: NETA Field Service Technician (II, III, or IV)
Location:
- San Marcos / New Braunfels, TX
- 50% regional travel (2–4 hour radius)
- Some remote flexibility for Level III/IV
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay:
- Level II: $35.00 – $50.00/hr
- Level III/IV: $55.00 – $85.00/hr
- Sign-On Bonus:
- Level II: Up to $14,000
- Level III/IV: $20,000 – $35,000
- Paid in structured installments over 3 years
- Overtime: Time-and-a-half (8–12 hrs) and double-time (12+ hrs)
- Company Vehicle: Provided (fuel, maintenance, company credit card)
- Per Diem: $70/day when traveling

Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, maintenance, and commissioning of LV/MV/HV power distribution equipment
- Test transformers (including TTR, insulation resistance, power factor)
- Execute cable testing to ensure system reliability and safety
- Conduct primary and secondary injection testing for protective relays and systems
- Service and troubleshoot switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, VFDs, and automatic transfer switches
- Perform relay testing to verify proper system protection and coordination
- Document all test results and generate accurate field reports
- Ensure compliance with NETA standards and strict safety protocols
Requirements:
- Active NETA II, III, or IV Certification (multi-year experience required for Level II)
- Hands-on experience with electrical power testing or commissioning
- Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformers, and protective relays
- Ability to travel regionally up to 50%
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- NICET Power Testing Certification
- Experience in mission-critical or industrial environments
- Advanced protective relay testing experience
