Essential FunctionsSummary:The Tank Supervisor provides strategic and hands‑on leadership over all tank welding, fabrication, and assembly operations within the manufacturing environment. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with uncompromising quality. The Tank Supervisor oversees Tank Leads and production staff, manages scheduling, enforces standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the tank fabrication area.
Accountabilities:- Oversee daily operations of the tank production area, including welding, fabrication, and assembly activities.Provide direction, coaching, and support to Tank Leads and production team members.Plan, schedule, and allocate labor and resources to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.Ensure adherence to welding standards, fabrication specifications, and quality assurance processes.Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed units to verify compliance with engineering drawings and industry standards.Partner with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Production Planning to align tank production with overall manufacturing goals.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety.Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all tank‑related processes.Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, conducting corrective actions and safety talks as needed.Manage performance of Tank Leads and team members, including evaluations, coaching, and necessary disciplinary actions.Approve timecards, manage labor hours, and ensure accurate tracking in the HRIS system.Oversee training programs for new hires and ongoing skill development for the tank production team.Maintain equipment readiness, communicate repair needs, and coordinate preventative maintenance with the Maintenance team.Ensure the tank production area remains organized, efficient, and audit‑ready.Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or senior leadership.

Required Knowledge/Experience:- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in welding/fabrication preferred.
- 7+ years of industrial or commercial welding and fabrication experience (preferred, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong proficiency in welding processes, blueprint reading, fabrication techniques, and quality inspection standards.
- Experience leading teams in a production, manufacturing, or metal fabrication environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize resources, coordinate schedules, and manage multiple priorities.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and welding‑specific safety requirements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office experience.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsFLSA executive role paid on a salary basis; project deadlines may require workweeks exceeding forty (40) hours, including weekends or holidays.Work performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions.Mobility: Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, or crouch for 8–10 hours per day.Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials.Lifting Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs, following OSHA standards.Visual/Auditory Requirements: Must see, hear, and communicate effectively to maintain safety and operational awareness.Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
