This position does require the candidate to join the International Organization of Masters, Mates, and Pilots union as part of their onboarding after accepting a job offer.

Minimum Qualifications and Credentials

• • Mate 1600 Gross Tons Oceans
  • Mate of Towing Vessels or completed TOAR (preferred) 
  • First Aid / CPR 
  • TWIC 
  • PIC Barge [DL]  
• • Valid Passport – must be able to travel internationally with no felonies, DUI, or other convictions which would restrict entry into Canada or other nations 
• • Valid STCW with all required endorsements (including, but not limited to: Mate, GMDSS, and Advanced Firefighting) 
• • Current GMDSS, ECDIS ARPA, Radar and Advanced Firefighting certificates 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• • Familiarity with ATB or conventional tug barge 
  • Familiarity with all aspects of cargo and ballast operations and regulations 
• • Prior experience with Inert Gas or Nitrogen system operations preferred 
• • Familiarity with Multi-grade and/or Chemical cargo transfer experience 
• • Candidate will be required to show competence in supporting deck and engineering operations

• $699.39/Daily Rate

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation, including hourly wages or salary, benefits, and other terms of employment, will be in accordance with the applicable union contract.  Specific pay rates and benefits will be provided during the hiring process and are based on the terms outlined in the agreement.
