Role Overview
As a Lead NETA Technician, you’ll be responsible for electrical testing and diagnostics of power equipment and control systems. You’ll prepare detailed reports, ensure job safety, and work closely with clients and company leadership to ensure successful project outcomes. You must be able to hit the ground running with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing on substations, switchgear, and related apparatuses
- Test relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, starters, station batteries, and power cables
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems and propose corrective solutions
- Generate detailed reports outlining services performed and recommendations
- Communicate clearly with clients and maintain a professional presence onsite
- Coordinate with management regarding manpower, scheduling, and equipment
- Always prioritize and maintain a safe work environment
Qualifications
- NETA Level II, III, or IV Certification (Level II minimum)
- Proven experience as a NETA Field Technician or in a similar role
- Ability to work independently and solve problems under pressure
- Union-friendly; open to joining Local 134 as Journeyman
- Must be based in or near Peoria, IL
