Job Details

• Position: Automation Engineer (PLC)
• Location: Crystal Lake, IL

Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and install PLC control systems for water/wastewater applications
• Develop conceptual designs and system specifications based on client requirements
• Provide field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting support for automation systems
• Program and test HMI/SCADA systems, especially Allen-Bradley, FactoryTalk, Ignition, or Wonderware
• Conduct site visits to configure instrumentation and support process startups
• Prepare control panel schematics, network diagrams, and documentation for projects
• Participate in on-call rotation for troubleshooting instrumentation and control issues

What you bring:

• Experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role in industrial controls
• Strong background in PLC/HMI design and implementation, with focus on Allen-Bradley systems
• Familiarity with SCADA software development (e.g., FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware)
• Hands-on experience with control panel wiring, network setup, and instrumentation
• Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision
