Project Engineer – Minneapolis, MN

$75,000 – $120,000 + Bonus Program + Hybrid Work Schedule

We are a 100% employee-owned consulting engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Minneapolis team. With over 45 years of experience and a talented team of 50+ professionals. We deliver mechanical, structural, electrical, and refrigeration solutions for diverse sectors including retail, education, healthcare, and commercial industries nationwide.

Position Overview:

• Title: Project Engineer
• Location: Minneapolis, MN
• Schedule: 90% office / up to 10% site visits; hybrid eligible after 6 months (2 days in-office, 3 days WFH)

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and design projects across the full lifecycle, from schematic design through construction
• Develop detailed mechanical/plumbing systems, specifications, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants on cross-disciplinary project efforts
• Ensure compliance with building codes and engineering standards
• Conduct system analysis using engineering software such as TRACE 3D Plus, Revit, AutoCAD
• Maintain schedules, budgets, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 6+ years of mechanical design or project engineering experience
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software (e.g., TRACE 3D Plus)
• Experience with retail projects is a plus
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, national/state/local codes
• Excellent communication, project planning, and interpersonal skills
• EIT/EI certification required; commitment to earning PE license
