A long-established mechanical and building automation contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Project Manager to oversee design-build and plan/spec projects across the Bay Area. Position Details
- Title: HVAC Mechanical Project Manager
- Location: Union City, CA (serving the Bay Area)
- Compensation: $95,000 – $180,000 (based on experience)
- Bonus: Structured Incentive Program + Year-End Profit Sharing
- Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of multiple HVAC mechanical projects from estimation through closeout
- Oversee design, construction, and delivery of new construction and retrofit projects
- Develop and track budgets, costs, and resource forecasts for multiple concurrent projects
- Issue subcontracts, purchase orders, and oversee procurement of materials and equipment
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure project success
- Lead project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and progress reports
- Develop manpower plans, review weekly updates, and monitor labor productivity
- Ensure quality, safety, and performance standards are consistently met
- Manage 3–5 projects simultaneously in the $5–10MM range
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of experience as an HVAC Mechanical Project Manager
- Background in new construction or plan/spec projects
- Experience in data center, lab, or commercial office build-outs preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of managing complex mechanical projects with attention to budget and quality
